Overview
The Department of Law offers a comprehensive program that prepares students for careers in the legal field. The curriculum covers a wide range of legal disciplines, emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Students are trained to think analytically, solve complex legal problems, and understand the intricacies of law at the national and international levels.
The program emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and negotiation skills, preparing graduates for careers in diplomacy, international organizations, government, and NGOs.
One day in class, your professor might show a social media post from a politician or celebrity. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss that post from different angles, such as its medium, its message, its meanings both expressed and implied, the credibility of the messenger, and the cultural impact of the message. Then you write your own social-media post in response.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Law department can pursue various careers, including positions as lawyers, judges, legal consultants, human rights advocates, and legal officers in government or international organizations. Opportunities also exist in private law firms, corporate legal departments, and NGOs.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the program, students will be able to interpret and apply legal principles to real-world situations. They will develop proficiency in legal research, writing, and advocacy, with the ability to communicate effectively in legal contexts. Additionally, students will be equipped to handle complex legal issues in various domains such as criminal law, civil law, and international law.
Students will also gain practical skills in negotiation, communication, and cross-cultural understanding. These competencies will prepare them to engage effectively in diplomatic settings, contribute to policy development, and address complex challenges in international relations.
