International Relations & Diplomacy
Students will learn about global politics, diplomacy, and international relations, gaining skills in negotiation, analysis, and cross-cultural communication.
- 3 Years / Onsite
- Intakes: Sep, Jan
Overview
The International Relations & Diplomacy department equips students with the knowledge and skills to understand global political systems, foreign policy, and international cooperation. Students explore key topics such as diplomacy, conflict resolution, and the role of international organizations.
The program emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and negotiation skills, preparing graduates for careers in diplomacy, international organizations, government, and NGOs.
One day in class, your professor might show a social media post from a politician or celebrity. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss that post from different angles, such as its medium, its message, its meanings both expressed and implied, the credibility of the messenger, and the cultural impact of the message. Then you write your own social-media post in response.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the International Relations & Diplomacy program can pursue careers in diplomacy, international organizations, government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international business, and policy research. They may work as diplomats, political analysts, international affairs officers, or consultants on global issues.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the program, students will be able to critically analyze international political systems, foreign policy, and global issues. They will develop a solid understanding of diplomacy, international law, and the functions of global institutions, as well as the ability to assess and interpret international events and trends.
Students will also gain practical skills in negotiation, communication, and cross-cultural understanding. These competencies will prepare them to engage effectively in diplomatic settings, contribute to policy development, and address complex challenges in international relations.
