Saed Mohamoud Jama, an Admas Graduate of the University’s ICT Faculty has been awarded $10,000 by Innovate Ventures in a ceremony held at Mansoor Hotel on the 29 October 2017.
The money, which has been given in a surprise, was intended to encourage him since his already-funded Muraadso Internet commerce start-up business by the same institution had substantially expanded to all the major towns of the country.
The colorful event at Mansoor Hotel was organized by Innovate Venture, an organization based in Hargeisa established by professional Diaspora youth which raised its fund from both local business and INGOs including Telesom, HCTV, OxfamNovib, VC4A and Work in Progress.
However, on this day, Innovate Venture has been demonstrating its annual Demo-day with the objective of presenting its’ work of the year and finally granting small seed fund to 10 small start-up after they were evaluated by an external panel.
Nevertheless, the event was attended by a large audience belonging to government sector, business sector, civil society, donors, university student’s, intellectuals, prominent individuals and etc.
